In our red-letter editions, the words spoken by Jesus are printed in red. The surrounding narration and other dialogue use the main text color: white in the Black Edition and black in the White Edition.
What the red lettering shows
Color helps you distinguish Jesus’ speech from the surrounding text. A page with a long teaching passage can contain mostly red text; another page may contain only a few red lines. The amount of red depends on the passage, not the edition’s page color.
Look at Matthew 4–5
The interior previews on both product pages show pages 9 and 10. Page 9 mixes narration with Jesus’ words and includes the opening of Matthew 5. Page 10 continues the teaching in red. These are rendered from the reading PDFs, rather than generated pictures of Scripture.

Red letters do not identify the translation
Page design and translation are separate details. Our physical editions use the English World English Bible and contain the New Testament only. If you are looking specifically for King James wording, check the KJV option in the digital collection rather than ordering a physical WEB edition by mistake.
Choose the contrast you prefer
Compare red text against both page backgrounds at a comfortable reading size. The Black Edition pairs red and white text with black printed pages; the White Edition pairs red and black text with white pages. Both have 432 pages and are available in hardcover or softcover.
