What is a theme book?
A 44 to 50 page hardcover that holds the passages of the Bible on one subject, such as hope, marriage or peace. Each book gathers 280 to 460 verses from across the Old and New Testaments and sets them in five to ten sections, in whole passages with their references.
How is it different from a Bible or a devotional?
A whole Bible holds everything, in the order of its books. A theme book holds one subject, gathered from many books and set in an order that reads well from beginning to end. It is Scripture only: there is no commentary or devotional text, only section headings, a contents and a short note on the edition.
King James Version or World English Bible: which should I choose?
The King James Version (the standard 1769 text) is the English of the old prayers and hymns, with thee and thou. The World English Bible is a modern English translation in the public domain, which names God as Yahweh where the Hebrew does. The passages and sections are the same in both; in both the words of Jesus are printed in red.
How is it printed?
Each copy is printed to order by Lulu as a casewrap hardcover, US Trade 6 × 9 in, matte cover, Standard Color on 80# white coated paper. The cover carries the book’s colour, an illustrated scene and one verse; the back lists the sections.
What does shipping cost, and how long does it take?
The price does not include shipping. The checkout shows the printer’s economy rate for your address before you pay, and economy shipping is free when your bag comes to $80 or more (books and clothing together). The book is printed after you order, and the delivery estimate follows by email after purchase.
Can I send it straight to the person I am giving it to?
Yes. You enter the delivery address at checkout, so it can be the address of the person you are giving the book to.
Can I return it?
Theme books are standard editions: you have the usual 14-day right of withdrawal from the day you receive the book, and your statutory rights if it is defective.
Can I see inside before I buy?
Yes. Each book’s page has Look inside: the opening pages in the text you choose, from the frontispiece with the cover illustration to the first passages. Our guides also walk through two of the books section by section: Bible verses about marriage and Bible verses for grief and loss, and a Bible for a wedding gift helps you choose.
Is there a German or Danish edition?
Yes. Every theme book is also printed in German, from the Luther Bible of 1912, and in Danish, from the authorised translation (Old Testament 1871, New Testament 1907), as a hardcover, a softcover and an eBook. Choose the text on the book’s page.
